Seasonal Breakdown
November–February
Cool/dry season : Best time to visit
- Weather: Temperatures are mild and comfortable, ranging from about 13°C to 28°C (55°F to 82°F).
- Activities: You can comfortably explore the local markets, visit the northernmost point of Thailand, and take a scenic boat trip on the river.
- Considerations: This is peak tourist season, so expect larger crowds and potentially higher prices.
March–May
Hot season : Avoid due to heat and haze
- Weather: This is the hottest period, with temperatures between 20°C and 35°C (68°F to 95°F). The humidity is also high, and the haze from seasonal crop burning can reduce air quality and visibility.
- Activities: Outdoor activities may be uncomfortable during the peak heat of the day.
June–October
Rainy season : Fewer crowds, lush scenery
- Weather: Expect frequent, short bursts of heavy rain, especially in the afternoons. While temperatures drop slightly, humidity is high.
- Activities: Fewer tourists visit during this time, resulting in lower prices. The rain also makes the surrounding landscape lush and green. If you don’t mind occasional downpours, it can be a good time to visit.
